I stare out the window, and the water splashes on the concrete,
The cold glass panes, press against my fingers.
The wind blows the tree branches,
Gently letting leaves fall on the ground.
The birds and squirrels, hide in the hollow holes in the trees,
They squeak and chirp.
The cars zoom by,
making a whirring sound.
"Well, I guess it just never stops raining. Does it?" I stand up and go to my kitchen.
My mum is making breakfast, smells so good. "Hey, mum, what're you making?" I ask, eyeing the pan. "Pancakes and bacon," she replies "Your favourite." She smiles and flips a few pieces of bacon.
"Hah, yep." I pull out a chair at the dining room table and sit down. Mum put the bacon on a plate, along with two pancakes, she places it in front of me with some syrup and orange juice. "Thanks." I bite a piece of bacon and grab a magazine.
The bell rings. I gather up my books and go into the hall. Lisa, my best friend, comes up to me and says: "Hey, Jane and I are going to the mall tomorrow, wanna come?
I look at her "I can't," I go to my locker "I'm volunteering at a soup kitchen."
Lisa looks at me like I committed a crime "You do that every Saturday. Take a break for once." she crosses her arms in frustration.
"I know. But they need the time more than I do. And I'm not doing anything on Sunday. I'll go then." Lisa looks at me with an angry face and says: "Okay, I'll tell Jane to reschedule." she puts her arms on her hips "Ari, take some time for yourself on day." she walks away frustrated.
I roll my eyes and go to the bus. I go to a seat in the back and start to doodle on some paper.
